Investment Focus
Industrifonden finances small and medium-sized companies throughout Sweden , normally with equity capital. It can also provide various types of loans and guarantees. All financing is granted on commercial terms.
Equity capital
The most common form of Industrifonden’s investments is equity capital directly in companies through participation in share issues or indirectly through convertibles that are later converted to shares. The fund is an active minority investor that seeks ownership interests of between 15 and 50 percent.
Loan capital
Industrifonden can also grant various types of loans for industrial development projects and marketing ventures. Loans are granted only to companies whose projects are expected to be profitable. Loans from Industrifonden can be used to finance up to 50 percent each project’s costs.
Active co-investor
Industrifonden rarely invests in a company without a partner. Instead, it usually joins syndicates together with other investors. In some cases, however, the fund may be the sole investor.
Investment amount
Generally, the investment in each company is SEK 5-100 million. Investment capital is normally provided gradually over time, as a result of which the initial investment may be less than SEK 5 million. No single investment may exceed 5 percent of assets under management (currently SEK 165 million).
Type of company
Small and medium-sized companies with international growth potential.
Development capital for tech startups
Development capital is designed for early-stage tech companies.
Expansion capital for established companies
Industrifonden offers expansion capital to small and medium-sized companies that usually have a positive cash flow.
