Industrifonden invests 27 MSEK in three different sectors

Industrifonden is investing a total of 27 MSEK in three companies, one each within electronics, nanotechnology and energy efficiency. The three companies are Jensen Devices in Sollentuna, Göteborg based Nanofactory Instruments and Flexenclosure, which is located in Lidköping.

Jensen Devices
Industrifonden has invested 10 MSEK in Jensen Devices in connection with a 30 MSEK stock issue, to which Volvo Technology Transfer and Midroc New Technology are also subscribing. Jensen Devices develops, manufactures and sells gas discharge tubes, products that are used to provide protection against power surges in electronic products and to switch on increasingly common xenon headlights. The company's customers are in the electronics and automotive industries. The funds raised will be used to establish a strong commercial position and to make possible industrial production of the company's next product generation.

Nanofactory
Industrifonden's investment in Nanofactory amounts to 9 MSEK . The funds will be used to further develop Nanofactory's product programme and to strengthen the company's sales, installation and user support functions. The company, which is a spin off from Chalmers University of Technology, develops and sells instruments for use in advanced electron microscopes to manipulate, measure and reproduce objects on a nanoscale. The customers are mainly within materials science, nanotechnology and the semiconductor industry, as well as within pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. www.nanofactory.com

Flexenclosure
Industrifonden's investment in the third company, Flexenclosure, amounts to 8 million kronor. The capital is to be used to increase the rate of expansion based on more efficient use of energy. The company has developed a "technique house", which houses a base station connected to a radio mast, which gives the mobile telephony network access to renewable sources of energy such as solar or wind power when electricity is unavailable. Flexenclosure's new system solutions based on renewable energy sources more than halve the cost of operating base stations in rural areas. www.flexenclosure.se

"The three investments are typical examples of the technology-focused growth companies to which we give priority. All three companies have considerable international potential," says Industrifonden's CEO Claes de Neergaard.
