Industrifonden invests in Quickomat

Stockholm, Sweden, February 29, 2008: Industrifonden has invested MSEK 4 in Quickomat AB, (www.quickomat.com), a Swedish company that is developing and running a chain of self-service vending machines for buying bus and train tickets, tickets for concerts and events or for re-filling a cash card for the mobile phone. The new capital will be used to finance Quickomat's expansion in the Nordic region.

Quickomat is offering the market a new way of quickly and easily buying everyday products such as bus and train tickets. At present the company is concentrating on the large market for public transport and has customer projects underway together with the Stockholm, Göteborg and Linköping public transport providers. It is also involved in customer projects in other areas such as car-park tickets, refills for mobile phones' cash cards, tickets for a variety of events, and gift vouchers.

"By using Quickomat public transport companies will no longer need to have cash sales on board buses and they can eliminate the threat of bus-drivers being robbed," says Arnold Norman, President of Quickomat.

Fifty or so Quickomat vending machines are already in use in Sweden at locations such as shopping malls, bus terminals and railway stations, hospitals and universities. Quickomat can sell products from numerous different suppliers and the customer pays using his or her cash card or credit card. Quicko-mat owns and runs the chain of vending machines, which means that suppliers don't have to invest large amounts in new distribution systems.

The company is now setting up a nationwide - and in the longer term international - chain of Quicko-mat vending machines. The market is just at the beginning of a period of strong global growth. And the Nordic countries are pioneers in this process, with customers who are already accustomed to carry out all sorts of transactions quickly and easily on a self-service basis, and without any need for sales personnel to get involved.

"Quickomat gives the supplier a simple, value-for-money and reliable distribution channel, and the end customer, at the touch of a button or two, can quickly buy a ticket at any time of the day," says Tore Tolke, investment manager at Industrifonden. The company is very well placed to quickly install numerous vending machines throughout the entire Nordic region.

The total investment of MSEK 6 will be used to accelerate the growth rate for the development and marketing of Quickomat. The existing owners will also subscribe to the new share issue.
