Industrifonden invests in Senset
Industrifonden has invested two million kronor in Senset, a Linköping company that has developed a new, environmentally friendly measuring system for fluid analysis. The system is known as the electronic tongue because the technique is intended to imitate the functions of the human sense of taste.
With Senset’s technique it is possible to make a variety of continuous analyses in fluids. One application is the measurement of the chemical content of water, which can be used, for example, in effluent and sewage treatment plants. Another use is for the measurement of the level of chemicals in process fluids. The common denominator is that it is possible to quickly determine if the chemical content is too high and take action. This prevents any unnecessary use of chemicals as well as benefiting the environment.
The method means that many new and exciting applications are now becoming possible within fluid analysis. In contrast to conventional measuring instruments, Senset’s technology makes it possible to measure several parameters simultaneously. The technique is also particularly suitable for on-line measurement, which means that action can be taken immediately whenever non-conformities are identified.
Senset, which was set up in 2004, is a spin-off from Linköping University. The company is still at an early stage of its development. The other shareholders, who are also co-investors in the current investment, are Wika, a German industrial company, the Rendera venture capital company, and the founders.
